Lightmaster Lighting Fixtures
Sears marketed its mid-1930s fixtures under the 'Lightmaster' name, and the line is a snapshot of how Art Deco reached ordinary homes. Geometric pan fixtures with frosted slip shades, stepped chrome sconces, and streamlined semi-flush ceiling lights all appear at Depression-era prices.
For collectors the Lightmaster pages are a Rosetta Stone for slip shades: the molded patterns shown here turn up constantly in the field, often separated from their original fixtures. Matching a loose shade to a Lightmaster page is one of the most common identification wins.
The 1934 selection also documents the shift in finish — from the warm brass of the 1920 pages to the bright nickel and chrome that defined the new decade.
