The Old House Lights archive and guides are provided for reference and education. We work to be accurate, but dating and attribution of antique fixtures involves judgment; treat our guidance as informed opinion, not a guarantee of authenticity or value.

Historic catalog material

Catalog images are reproduced for historical reference. Much of the material we host is in the public domain (United States publications from before 1929); where material may be under copyright, we present it for educational reference, credit the source, and remove or license anything on legitimate request. Safety

Antique fixtures should be inspected and, where needed, rewired by a qualified electrician before use. Restored fixtures we sell are rewired to operate safely; original wiring on any unrestored piece should be replaced.
